TEDx is coming to southwest Arkansas! TEDxUAHT will be held on April 4, 2020 on the beautiful campus of the University of Arkansas Hope in Hempstead Hall. Hempstead County is already brimming with momentum to go farther than we ever have and we’re on the brink of more amazing things happening right here in our own backyard. Since TEDx promotes “ideas worth spreading," this will help build upon the excitement to help better our community and region.

Friend Friday We want to showcase ideas from across the southwest Arkansas region through guest bloggers.  Today's Friend Friday post comes from Shirley Potts, mother of three, primary school teacher, and 2006 graduate of UAHT.  This post was originally delivered as a speech to an "EDGE" freshman orientation class and covers overcoming obstacles to higher education, how UAHT helped her succeed, and the benefits of earning a college degree.

Training Tuesday Each month, we will focus on a few areas of the industry training and community education options we offer.  This month's first #TrainingTuesday is focused on the historic art and trade of bladesmithing. Our Community Education department at UAHT, located inside of Hempstead Hall, is proud to offer options for non-credit classes at the newly formed James Black School of Bladesmith & Historic Trades.
